Enauta published its Annual Sustainability Report for the fiscal year 2022, together with the release of last year’s results. The document points out that the company reduced its direct CO2 emissions (scope 1) by 12.6% from its operations in the Atlanta field last year. The company is a pioneer in publishing this type of document and, since 2011, has reported its data in accordance with the guidance of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
CEO, Décio Oddone, says that, “Governance and transparency in its socio-environmental information has been a priority in Enauta’s strategy. The company has shown its commitment to this subject since 2011, the year the first report was launched, making it the first independent company in the sector to report data on this matter and to implement good practices regarding the ESG concept”.
1.Reduction in emission intensity
According to the report, the intensity of CO2 emissions in the Atlanta field was 18.8 kgCO2e/boe, thus attaining the corporate target of a maximum of 20 kgCO2e/boe and lower than the last average for the sector disclosed by the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI). The company also stands out, when considering CO2 emission intensity, for both of its operational assets (100% Atlanta and 45% Manati), with a total of 15.4 kgCO2e/boe.
2.B Rating from the CDP
The company’s good performance was recognized with the upgrade from a “C” Rating to “B” by the CDP, the main international non-profit organization that acknowledges good practices related to the management of GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions. The company is the only Brazilian independent producer to achieve this classification. In addition to the new rating, the company has been awarded a gold seal (since 2015) under the Brazilian GHG Protocol program.
3.Social investment
In the social sphere, in 2022, Enauta made the largest investment in the company’s history, with R$ 13 million allocated to projects that promote culture, education, diversity, health, knowledge and the preservation of Brazil’s natural wealth. The company supported 20 social projects during the year, benefiting more than 200,000 people around the country.
