On Friday (18/8), Ibama issued a preliminary license for the Definitive System (DS) of the Atlanta field, operated by Enauta in the Santos Basin. The license attests to the environmental viability of the project, approving its location and design, as described in the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) and its supplements.
The Atlanta SD will replace the field’s current Accelerated Production System (SPA). Phase 1 of the project involves completing the FPSO Atlanta processing plant, completion of the six production wells and the installation and connection of subsea equipment, according to the report referring to the 2Q23 results.
The FPSO Atlanta, which will have the capacity to process 50,000 bpd and store 1.6 million barrels, is expected to leave the Dry Docks shipyard, in Dubai, in the fourth quarter of 2023. Installation of the new platform is scheduled for the beginning of 2024, while the first oil is expected in the third quarter of that same year.
